Sister M. Hanif graduated with a 1st class in BA(Hons) in Politics from the Royal Holloway University in London in 2011 where she gained the 'London Excellence Award' for the highest dissertation marking in the entire year. 

She then went on to complete her PGCE in Education at the University of Central Lancashire. A keen educationalist with a passion for inspiring change through education and training, she  has a broad range of experience working in Government , academia, and multi-faith organisations. 

After graduating from University, she worked in parliament with the then Prime Minister Gordon Brown, as a research intern for the 'Three Faiths forum' (a forum set up to promote dialogue between Muslim, Christian and Jewish schools). 

Her work with diverse communities has enabled her to advocate social justice issues that are evident within education. This, alongside her experience as a lecturer in Comparative Politics and pastoral tutor has empowered her to deliver a pedagogical experience which is both inclusive and encompassing of all learning styles and learning abilities. 

Sister M. Hanif is currently a lecturer and course leader at Lancaster University based in the campus at Blackburn. She is also currently completing her PhD in Education and Social Justice at the University of Lancaster, where she is researching ways in which barriers can be lifted to ensure the benefits of education are widespread through all communities.

(Maulana) firasat Ullah RAZAK

Maulana Firasat has been serving the community in Burnley for over 10 years and is currently the Imam of Darul Islah. Maulana graduated from Darul Uloom Bury with a BA (Hons) in 'Islamic Theology and Jurisprudence' in 1999. He then went to further his studies and studied a PGCE part-time in Religious Studies after which he completed a Diploma in Public Services Interpreting. 

Maulana's experience includes working as a 'Child Protection Officer' in Blackburn for Lancashire Council of Mosques through Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council for 4 years. Maulana then worked as a 'Father's Engagement Co-ordinator' for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council across several children's centers in Blackburn for a further 4 years.

Maulana Inayat is currently the Director and part of the SLT (Senior Leadership Team) at The Olive Tree Nursery. Maulana graduated from Darul Uloom Blackburn with a BA (Hons) in 'Islamic Theology and Jurisprudence' in 2012. 

Prior to his religious studies, Maulana completed a BSc (Hons) in Computing at Manchester University and then went onto to complete a PGCE in ICT / Computer Science at Edge Hill University where he also completed his QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). He then went to study a certificate in  'Every Child Matters in the Workplace' at the University of Cumbria, which he then furthered with a certificate in 'Managing People in Non-Profit Settings' at the same university. 

After completing his NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher), Maulana went into teaching in various secondary state schools for 2 years, before finally teaching in an Islamic independent school in Blackburn as 'Head of Department' for 8 years.
