To help promote positive values and good character, Olive High and some staff at Olive High bought Hot Chocolate and Biscuits for all the pupils!
During the lunch break, pupils were given a cup of hot chocolate and biscuit each and were given the opportunity to socialise with friends on a extended break on the day.
Year 11, setting an excellent example, bought food for all SLT from their own pocket money! We were all so grateful for their gesture of love and kindess.
In conjunction with UK Parliament week and to make the event more meaningful, pupils voted for the school council on the day! Candidates were given the opportunity to make a speech and put forward their case why they should be chosen as their class representative.
These councillors meet regularly with their class members and put forward any concerns or general feedback from their class to the council. The council meets a senior member of staff on a monthly basis to create an action plan to follow up on these meetings.
Following on from COP26, we have decided to work towards net zero carbon and becoming an officially recognised Eco-School. Pupils have volunteered to become ambassadors in various areas to help pursue our goal in becoming net zero within 2 years.
Pupils wore a clothing item in yellow to help recognise the importance of supporting mental health, especially in young people.
We had an open surgery at Olive High on the day where pupils could speak to the Pastoral Welfare Officer.
In September 2021 we launched self-defense lessons in Kickboxing, led by Master Z, a 2nd Dan Kickboxing Martial Artist.
Lessons take place on Tuesday and Friday on our very own Dojo at Olive High.
Our girls went to Thompson Park to carry out an Orienteering activity. Pupils braved the weather and did exceptionally well!
